Abstract: If the mathematics is to be interesting rather than a dull experience for the students, the first steps must be to make it a positive rather than negative emotional experience for the teachers. The importance placed on the subject is derived from the fact that it would help the nation meet its quest for science and technological advancement. A lot required from the mathematics teacher in terms of methods and strategies for effective teaching and learning of mathematics in secondary schools to meet the learning expectation of the students and other stake-holders. You need satisfied, competent and confident teacher to produce satisfied and confident students. The teacher is a major learning resource in mathematics at any level. If he is effective, he is catalyst, a stimulator, an inspirer and facilitator. He has to be able to facilitate learning by creating opportunities which enable learner to investigate situations. He has to have internalized techniques which enable him to go beyond ordinary routine questions ending at the knowledge level, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis and evaluation which may together be called higher intellectual skills and abilities have to be viewed by the mathematics teacher as important attributes to be acquired by his students. Teaching process cannot be said to be complete if assessment of the students, teachers and the, methods and strategies employed are not thoroughly carried out, The teacher must know the best techniques and methods of presenting his ideas to the students putting into consideration students interest, needs, individual differences, difficulties and abilities. Abstract: Measuring educational performance and understanding its determinants are crucial factors in helping the educational community to better understand student output and to guide policy makers in drafting educational policies. Despite the growing number of studies interested in educational output and its determinants in many countries, there are few comparative surveys assessing both developed and developing countries. This article attempts to assess the impact of home environment, school resources and teacher quality on students’ educational achievement at fourth grade across developed and developing countries. In sum up we suggest for developing countries to invest in school resources and teacher quality for exemple ensure that primary school are well equipped with necessary resources and focus on improving teacher quality through better training and adequate compensation. According to developed countries findings suggest that home environment factors like having a computer, desk, personal room, and books—play a crucial role in student performance also consider the impact of parental outcomes and involvement in their children’s education we suggest to implement programs that support parental engagement and address socioeconomic disparities that impact the home learning environment.

Abstract: In the context of the vigorous development of innovation and entrepreneurship, the construction of off-campus practice bases for food majors in colleges and universities is of great significance. This paper takes the Institute of Agricultural Products Processing of the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences as a typical case to deeply analyze the existing problems in the construction of this practice base, including imperfect management mechanisms, insufficient integration of practice content and majors, and the need to strengthen the construction of teaching staff. Then put forward innovative ideas and strategies, covering aspects such as resource integration and optimization, teaching staff construction, curriculum and project innovation, cooperation mechanism innovation, and management and guarantee innovation. Elaborated on practical exploration and reform measures, such as building a collaborative education platform, building a high-level teaching staff team, establishing a characteristic practical curriculum system, comprehensively improving students' practical and innovative abilities, and strengthening the cooperation mechanism of industry, academia, research and learning between schools and institutes. Finally, it emphasizes that off-campus practice bases for food majors are of crucial significance for cultivating students' practical abilities, etc., and looks forward to the future development direction, including further strengthening the connection between practice bases and college professional courses, establishing a more scientific and reasonable evaluation system, and integrating new technology training and other contents. As a typical case, the Institute of Agricultural Products Processing of the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences, provided experience and models for the development of off-campus practice bases for food majors.

Abstract: Culinary Hygiene and Safety is one of the core courses in the culinary and nutrition education major in higher education institutions. Under the current "New Engineering" background, students in this major should possess strong abilities to analyze and solve practical application problems. Therefore, a systematic and efficient teaching model is necessary. This study proposes introducing case-based teaching into this course and analyzes the teaching objectives, teaching content, teaching methods, and assessment methods. It explores a teaching model that facilitates the close integration of theory and production practices, courses, and industrial development. This teaching model align with the professional foundation characteristics of different student sources, capable of laying a solid theoretical and practical foundation for students' graduation, further studies, employment, and entrepreneurship. It is recommended that this teaching model be extended to the other courses offered by the College of Food Science and Engineering, thus facilitating the cultivation of applied "new engineering" talents.
